    • The Cemetery Office supports parishes in providing dignified resting places for Catholics throughout the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, in accordance with Church and state regulations.

The office oversees cemetery locations across the diocese and provides standardized forms, policies, procedures, rules and regulations to help ensure consistent cemetery operations. It also provides accounting and financial support for cemetery locations and mausoleum programs, works with mausoleum contractors on planning and construction, and provides estimates for placing tombs and vaults under perpetual care. The office maintains a list of approved cemetery contractors and offers maintenance services to interested cemetery locations for a nominal fee. It also monitors the operation of St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux and St. Francis Cemeteries in Houma.
