The Office of Worship is pleased to assist parishes in scheduling the Sacrament of Confirmation for adult candidates. Bishop Simon Peter Engurait will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation within Mass for adults twice a year at the Cathedral of Saint Francis de Sales in Houma—once in the fall and once in the spring—providing opportunities for those who are ready at different times.

This celebration is intended for those who have been baptized Catholic and have already received the Eucharist, but who are in need of the Sacrament of Confirmation to complete their full initiation into the Catholic Church.

We ask that each parish register their adult confirmation candidates using the online form provided by the Office of Worship under the registration tab located to the left of the screen.

Deadline for Fall Confirmation - Monday, October 26, 2026

Spring Adult Confirmation  - Sunday, May 24, 2026
Deadline for Spring Confirmation - Monday, May 11, 2026

The Office of Worship assists parishes in coordinating the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for youth and adults.

Each parish should submit three preferred dates and times from the available options on the Confirmation Date Request Calendar. The bishop will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in parishes from January through May.

Confirmation dates will be assigned based on the order requests are received. After your parish submits the form, the Office of Worship will contact you to confirm which of your preferences has been approved.

Please do not publicize a Confirmation date until it has been officially approved by the Office of Worship.

Bishop Simon Peter Engurait is currently scheduled to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in your parish. If a change to the scheduled celebrant becomes necessary, the Office of Worship will notify the parish directly.
