After nearly five years of recovery following Hurricane Ida, Holy Savior Catholic Church at 612 Main Street in Lockport reopened its doors to parishioners on Saturday, June 13. Bishop Simon Peter Engurait celebrated the Blessing of the Altar and Rededication of the Church during a 10 a.m. Mass, marking the final church reopening in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux following the storm in August 2021.
After consultation with the Priests’ Personnel Board, and with their favorable recommendation, Most Revered Simon Peter Engurait, sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, is pleased to make the following clergy announcements and appointments, effective July 1, 2026. These appointments are made in addition the previously announced appointments made on April 27.
